Before Applying

Read the "Are you ready to adopt?" section. This is a crucial prerequisite.

The Adoption Process:

When you come to meet one of our adorable kitties, we want to make sure you both get to know each other properly! We don't adopt out same day; instead, we encourage you to spend some quality time with the cats. This way, you can find the perfect match for your family. Once you've found a potential purr-fect companion, you can fill out an application. We'll work together to see if that kitty is the right fit or if there's another one who might suit your home even better. Happy cat hunting! 🐾

Just a quick note about our adoption process: we don’t accept deposits, hold animals, ship them out, or keep waiting lists for any unposted pets. If you see a furry friend you love, and you’re interested in adopting, please fill out an application for the specific kitty you have your eye on. Remember, it’s not first come, first served—it’s all about finding the best fit for each furry friend.🐾

Meet the cats:

It's highly recommended to visit the rescue and meet all the cats to get a feel for their personalities. Cat bios are from the rescue's perspective and may not perfectly reflect how you'll perceive the cat. People sometimes choose a cat from a bio but end up adopting a different one after meeting them.

Approval Notification:

If your application is approved, you'll receive an email or phone call within 3 business days.

Matching Philosophy:

Toe Beans prioritizes matching the right cats with the right families to ensure successful, long-term adoptions.

Carrier Requirement:

Cats must go home in a proper secure pet carrier.

Note:

The organization dedicates significant resources (time and energy) to candidate selection, meeting arrangements, and foster home coordination.

Important Policies & Notes

Outdoor Cats:

Kittens will NOT be adopted to live outdoors. Animals that have lived indoors (or during foster care) will not be adopted out to live outdoors. Indoor/outdoor living situations are allowed ONLY IF the outdoor environment is supervised and safe. Check the "Barn Buddies Program" listings for cats suitable for outdoor living.

Family Involvement:

It's best if the whole family comes for the cat adoption meet.

Returns due to family not present:

If the whole family isn't present for a cat adoption and this leads to the animal's return, the adoption fee will NOT be refunded. The animal MUST be returned to the rescue.

No Shipping:

Toe Beans Animal Rescue DOES NOT SHIP their animals.

Rescue's Right:

The rescue reserves the right to refuse adoption to anyone.

If It Doesn't Work Out (Returns)

Welcome Back:

Toe Beans is committed to taking back their cats at any time, regardless of how long they've been adopted, because their well-being is the top concern.

General Returns (Circumstances Change/Not a Fit):

You can receive a 50% refund within 5 days of adoption. Returns after 5 days will have NO REFUND and require a surrender fee.

Returns for Serious Behavioral Issues (within 5 days):

If there's a serious, unforeseen behavioral issue that concerns the safety of you, your family, or other pets, the cat can be returned within 5 days for a full refund.

Cat Adoption Fees:

Kittens: Under 1 Year- $200 or $350 for two

Cats: 1 Year- 9 Years- $175 or $300 for two

Senior Cats: 10 Years and up- $100

Just a quick note about our furry friends: All of our cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped and come fully vaccinated with their core vaccines and rabies shots. If you’re adopting a kitten under 4 months, they’ll have received at least 2-3 sets of vaccines, depending on their age. And if they’re 4 months or older, they’ll be up to date with their rabies shot too! So you can snuggle your new buddy with confidence knowing they’re protected.🐾

Payment:

Accepted via cash, debit, credit (additional charge), or e-transfer (EMT). Full payment is due at the time of adoption.
