Gilbert is an extremely sweet boy who simply wants to be with his humans and soak up as much love as he can. He thrives on attention and will happily stay close by your side. He also gets along wonderfully with other cats and would do great in a home with feline friends. Gilbert is FIV positive. FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) is a virus that affects a cat’s immune system. It is most commonly spread through deep bite wounds (typically from unneutered males fighting), not through casual contact like sharing food bowls, litter boxes, grooming, or cuddling. That means FIV-positive cats can safely live with other friendly, non-aggressive cats. Many FIV-positive cats live long, happy, completely normal lives with proper care and regular vet checkups. FIV is not contagious to humans or dogs. Gilbert doesn’t let his FIV status slow him down one bit — he’s just as loving, playful, and deserving of a forever home as any other cat.
